Volver Al Futuro 2 Remasterizada

Sleepy Thursday

Hubby's at work, son's at school..and me? I'm sleepy.

Before you think I'm just one of those stay-at-home-but-lazy mom (which I really am, actually!), I believe I have a good reason to be sleepy on a Thursday morning.

I've been up until 3am last night, finishing the last phase of reading/correcting/validating the grades of the class I had last semester at UPOU.  The university provides continuing education through distance education. The course I'm handling for four years now is Fundamental Concepts  of Chemistry I, an online class for those taking up Diploma in Science Teaching.  That's why even when I moved here in Iowa (in the middle of the sem), I can still facilitate the class.

I'm blessed with a diligent, inquisitive, and wonderful classmates  (I refer to the enrollees as classmates simply because I am also learning with them).  I have 17 classmates last semester, and sadly three of them have not participated all throughout the sem, which narrowed the numbers to 14.  They are mostly high school science teachers, some of them moms like me.  I could just imagine how hard it is for them to manage their schedule.  In the Philippines, handling a public highschool class means a range of 50-65 students in a class (no kidding, some of them even have more!). That's roughly 4 times as big as my 2nd grader's class here. Whew!

Anyways, I'm glad I was able to finish the grades..and can now move to..tadahh...reviewing the Iowa Driver's Manual:-(...I've been putting this off since last week, but I guess I really have to start today and take the exam on Saturday...*yawn*

I'll be back later!

Heaven sent: Beauty So Clean Cosmetic Sanitizer

This has got to be one of the most useful products I have ever purchased for my kit. As you all know, it is important to keep your make up sanitized and clean. There are a couple of ways to do so like never dipping your brush directly into a cream product, using spatulas, always using clean brushes. But now I am so happy that I encountered this new product during my vacation in North America. It's called Beauty So Clean The World's First Cosmetic Sanitizer!

Especially as a make up artist, you always want to keep you kit clean. The last thing you want to happen is for your products to produce bacteria through cross contamination. I first encountered this product when Crystal S. sent me samples from her contest, immediately I decided I should get myself a big bottle for me to use at home. Until I forgot about it and I visited the Holly North Supply Store in Vancouver Canada, I saw the product again and had no second thoughts and purchased it then and there. :)

Beauty So Clean comes in a convenient spritzer that deposits just the right amount so the product does not soak in the sanitizer (which it is not supposed to) :)

Here are the ingredients of Beauty So Clean and also Directions on how to use the product:

I personally love using the product for my powder Foundations, Eye shadows and lipstick palette. Beauty So Clean also has wipes which they recommend for pencils, lipsticks and the smaller products. Although for me, since my lipsticks are all in palettes, I spray beauty So Clean on them let it sit for at least a minute then gently wipe off the top layer of the lipstick with wet ones.

About to sanitize my lipstick palette :)

If you want to learn more about Beauty So Clean, you can check out their website and their whole product range here:

Let's make it a habit and regularly clean and sanitize our products whether they are personal or for professional use. :)

CARGO Blu Ray High Definition Make-Up

HD makeup has got to be one of the things I consider top on my list when scouting for make-up. As a make up artist, I see to it that the products that I use is friendly to all kinds of lights since, as we all know, a lot of cosmetics have titanium dioxide in them, the ingredient that causes the "whitish" cast on camera flashes. That is a no-no for me, that's why I love HD makeup because I know it is made for requirements like film, photography and stage.

So when I came about a make up brand called CARGO, their HD products nonetheless caught my eye. And since I'm a foundation/Powder addict, I couldn't wait to try the CARGO Blu Ray High Definition Powder and got my hands on one right away when I visited ULTA in Tanforan Mall San Bruno.

CARGO HD Powder in 30
Price: $30

Back of the Product

I have had this product for about 1 month now and I have got to say that I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I had promised myself that I would review the product weeks ago, but things happen and next thing I know I have already Hit Pan!

That is how much I love this product. I use it practically everyday! It is crazy pigmented and offers awesome coverage for the face yet feels lie translucent powder. Did I say it was pigmented? Check it out.

One swatch picks up so much product thus you have to be careful otherwise a tendency of product being wasted can occur.

Initially swatched back of hand

Spread into skin using fingers, see how it vanishes? It's so light on skin it's amazing!

Overall, CARGO Blu Ray High Definition Powder is HG quality. The only quirk I have with it is because it is so pigmented you have to be careful in picking up the product otherwise a lot will go to waste. It is also pretty hefty at $30 a piece, but it's worth it when you get to try it. :) I would definitely purchase this product again, and it seems that I need one sooner than I think. :) And yet again, HD hasn't failed me. :)

Toodles! :)

Remember how I said it was pigmented? Well check out how much product my finger still had after swatching at the back of my hand and spreading.

Nice! :)

MAC Morange Amplified Lipstick

I had been searching high and low for the perfect orange lipstick. MAC Morange was always an option and actually my peg swatch for the orange. Although, I was really trying hard to find a cheaper alternative with the same color vibrancy as Morange gave. But to no avail, I couldn;t find any, and I couldn't settle for any less. I went by and forgot about the orange lipstick until I went to my favorite MAC store to Back 2 Mac some items. When Maike assisted me, she told me of the little options for Back 2 Mac, I happily responded that it was no problem since I wasn't really that choosy. Going through the stash, I saw that there was 1 MAC morange up for grabs. I immediately told Maike that I would get Morange. And finally I have it. :)

Check out that bright orange color! :)

The swatch

From the swatch it doesn't look as bright, but once it is applied on the lips, it really is a perfect orange. :) I really can't wait to execute some looks I am cooking up using orange lipstick for my upcoming shoots! Yayy! Finally :)

Beauty Feature in CHALK Magazine August 2010 Issue

Hi girls, if you know me personally Hyper would be one of the words you would probably use to describe me. Now I am more than Hyper and excitement than ever. Why? Because Chalk Magazine's 10th year anniversary issue (August 2010) is now out! I'm excited because this issue features moi yours truly and Maui in their Beauty pages. :)

Me and Maui did make up for 2 real girls who both go to school talking about how their beauty and fashion has evolved in the last 10 years. :) We really had fun during the shoot and now I'm super happy its out. :)

Love, Rosie and P.S. I love You by Cecelia Ahern

Love, Rosie:  Written by Cecelia Ahern.
4 thumbs up! Frustratingly funny love story of two best friends:-) Different writing style, where the author used notes, card dedications, phone conversations, and emails, the entire time!

P.S. I Love You: Written by Cecelia Ahern
A very touching story which emphasized the value of family, friendships, and career when life seems to be at mess.  The reader would be anticipating the letter with surprise gifts/tasks made/composed by Gerry to his wife Holly which was to occur each month for the entire first year (well, almost...10 months to be exact) he was gone.  The letters would always end with a P.S. I love you. The story tells how Holly was able to cope up and move on by the help of her late husband's letters.

Max Factor False lash Effect Mascara

Since I have been recently obsessed with Mascaras and making eyes bigger, I recently added to my collection my first ever Max Factor Mascara product.

When I was in the department store jumping from one brand to the other looking for the perfect mascara, the Max Factor stand always draws my eyes. I always had the idea that Max Factor makes good Mascaras but I also always thought the price was just too much for me. But in this visit, I took time and went through their Mascara choices.

Out of all their variants, the "False Lash Effect" really intrigued me. Since I want fuller and longer lashes this was a big big plus. But it was crazy expensive at PHP695. So i looked around other stand and thought over it and went back to Max Factor and bought it. Since I didn't want to test the Mascara in the store (Hello Bacteria and Contamination!) I was seriously wishing and telling myself that it better work. Hehe

Of all Max Factor Mascaras this claims to have the fattest wand. The bristles are made of plastic and have uneven lengths. So what can i say about the Mascara? Is it worth it? :)

Tell me what you think:

Cured lashes WITHOUT mascara

So was it worth it? In my opinion YES. My lashes are now fatter and a little longer. It is also good in keeping up the curl which is a big big plus for me. I have experienced in other mascaras bringing down the curl of the lashes once applied. And this one is a no fail! It doesn't clump too! :)

The only thing I have to say about it is since the bristles are made out of plastic, tendency with plastic bristles is that the mascara is applied wet, but the mascara dries eventually after a while. So you just have t be careful and check that not too much product is on the wand because if so, you will have very wet looking lashes that have clumped. But otherwise if you are careful with the application it should pose no problem. :)

I give this Max Factor False lash Effect Mascara 2 thumbs up! :)

Looks like I found my staple Mascara product for now. What do you think? :)

Toodles! :)

Garnier Light Complete Multi-action whitening cream

About a month back, I received as part of a goodie bag this Garnier Light Complete cream. I was really excited to try it since it's new. Also I felt that it was my lucky day, what the product promises seemed just right for me.

The product comes in a 20ml tube very handy and fits just right in your hand. The size is also convenient and fits in any purse. :)

The twist open cap makes sure that no product is wasted. :)

What is says:

"Garnier Light Complete is a multi-action whitening cream that acts on dullness, dark spots, excess oil and acne marks. It makes your skin visibly fairer while leaving it perfectly clarified."

*Enriched with pure lemon essence, known for its exfoliating properties, it helps remove dullness and visibly lightens acne marks.

*Enriched with derivative salicylic acid with anti-bacterial properties, its oil-trapping formula visibly reduces excess oil and shine for a 6 hour shine-free look .

Its ultra-light texture is non greasy and absorbs quickly into the skin for an all day comfort and shine-free feeling.

Of all the info, the 6-hour shine free and oil-trapping qualities of the Light Complete cream was what sold me. I have a serious case of oiliness on my face, which causes me occasional breakouts which eventually leads to acne marks. And because of my oily skin, getting rid of the acne marks take longer than usual (in my personal observation). So this product is like an answer to all my skincare problems hehe.

Here is what the product looks like, little amount at the back of my hand.

Here it is initially spread, the texture kind of reminds me like mouse, but with more moisture. The description of the product as 'quick absorbing and non greasy' holds true. :) I really love how this feels and sinks in to my skin easily. :)

Fully rubbed in, my skin does not feel greasy at all. No shine and actually has a matte finish yet still very moisturized.

Here's my bare face with just the Garnier Light Complete cream, I'm so loving how this is non greasy! :) My face feels so fresh! :)

Overall, I am loving this product, and hopefully this works for me in the long run. The only thing that I don't really like about it is the smell, it is a little strong, its not a bad smell but its just strong. Hehe :)

Toodles! :)
